a string of felt spheres

fancy a felt ball necklace?
whilst whipping up some work for textiles assessment, i stumbled upon these felt bits i made a few weeks ago
they are just so lovely to look at...so i decided to string them and make some necklaces, or garlands for my room!
for some reason they remind me of christmas, maybe I'm just itching to get home for the summer break!

i think i prefer them in a garland form, hanging above my sink...
I made just one special forest green felt ball,
it belongs on a string of its own,
and i will wear it around my neck.

you got a seedpod wrapped around your head

i made this headpiece on friday in my idea development class,
it is a shibori moulded piece of silk organza.
inspired by seedpods
I wrapped the organza around some real seedpods to get those interesting shapes
the pleated back part had been wrapped around a pole with a tight thread and pleated.
oh so much fun!

thanks to kirby for a touch of hilarity in my life, she's so gorgeous!

the latest spring print

Spring calls for a new addition to my cosy college room, and a new fabric print
Right where it belongs, above the sewing desk!
This is a two colour print I made for my screenprinting class for my current independent project,
I plan to make either some pyjamas or some sweet scarves with it! and then design a small print for calico bags to complement it!
It is a hand drawn abstract floral design, inspired by Wattle...
I decided to change up the colour palette!

If you remember a few weeks ago I was trying to create a watercolour effect with a screenprint.
I managed to achieve it with this pink one.
I call it...
