pattern pieces

Assessment for my CAD Design Create class is on Friday.
Tonight I have been finishing up designing away from the computer. For the past few days, I've been tucked away in the computer rooms, working on my designs on a CAD (computer aided design) program that is particularly frustrating. So I thought I'd take the night off and focus some practical work that needs to be done for the assessment on Friday.
These are my leather laser cut pattern pieces.
Designed on Adobe Illustrator and sent off to laser cutting manufacturer Ponoko in New Zealand, and sent back to be assembled. At the moment, I am in the process of designing brooch backs for them (thats the paper stencil prototypes you can see in the picture above). My initial plan was to make them into necklaces, but because of their fragility and numerous other reasons, I feel they would be better as brooches.
It was surprisingly really lovely quality of upholstery leather, and the laser etches in the pattern markings so exactly. I also couldn't resist making the most of the excess leather and got some R.A.G tags cut too!
The template I'm designing the brooch backs from.
The piece of leather it was cut from, the size of leather was specified by Ponoko and was 18cm x 18cm

Enjoying a few birthday treats from my lovely friends at college, chocolate, T2 peppermint tea, and a sweet tea strainer ball too! Shortly after this photo was taken I was a little too keen for a sip and burnt  my tongue. ouch!

The end of semester means assessment. Today I setup all the work I have produced and accumulated over the past semester in the textiles workshop, and now that is marked I am freeeee. done and dusted.

My setup for my screenprinting body of work "Botania" containing my Grevillea "Orange Marmelade" Prints and scarves.
My final weaving project, I designed and hand wove the furnishings for the interior of a hypothetical children's clothing shop "Runaway Circus". This is a storyboard containing my final samples.

 Lace Print
My promotional artist cards
